I always liked how you can tell its summer by walking on the street and suddenly getting a whiff of sunscreen. This is a perfume distilled from NIVEA sunscreen. Crucially however, it does not protect against UV. It is only the scent of it. Capitalistic corporations have used scent to inflate the value of products, making it cheaper to produce and be lower in quality. Scent masks the true nature of the product. By removing the actual product and only having the scent, it becomes more important to smell of sunscreen than to actually wear it. We wear the promise.
